Personality: The first thing to know about him is that he hates his true name. To him it represents a completely different person, one that died with the victims of the virus. This version of him barely exists, buried deep underneath the carefully constructed persona known as Shroud. "Shroud" is both a mask and a coping mechanism, but it is also a play on Nathaniel's last name ("Shroeder"), making it his only remaining link to the child he once was. But what he now lacks in empathy and physical prowess, he makes up for in cleverness and the sheer strength of his abilities. Cunning, manipulative, and capable of infiltrating others' dreams, he has spent the past year collecting all manner of data regarding his faction and those within it. He has become known not only as someone who can fix nearly any problem for a price, but also as a neutral third party that can reliably fill the role of an ambassador between the scientists and the faithful.
Backstory: Nathaniel was fourteen when the virus hit. He had been living with his wealthy father, a man who loved his son but did his best to mold him into a ruthless businessman. Nathaniel resisted such attempts to control his personality for most of his childhood, causing him to harbor lingering resentment towards the one who raised him. When he was forced to kill his father after he became infected with the virus, everything he had been taught suddenly came to the surface, and he began calling himself Shroud. He joined the Pacifics, using his skills and what remained of his father's resources to establish himself as a dealer of secrets and favors, as well as a neutral party capable of negotiating between the two competing groups within his faction.

Notes:
- Nobody knows his real name, and he rarely reveals information about himself without asking for something in return.
- His current goal is to create a list of every survivor, starting with those in his own faction. He has retrieved birth certificates and medical files for around 50 out of approximately 150 Pacifics. For the remaining 100, he has written detailed notes including personal information, strengths and weaknesses, and connections.
- To those who choose to remain neutral in the conflict between the science kids and the religious kids, he is something of an authority figure. He can find people to do his dirty work fairly easily, as he is physically weak and fragile.
Appearance: Nathaniel is tall, with carefully styled jet black hair and blueish gray eyes. He's skinny, and always wears very fine clothes.
